«La Fleur Blanche» The brothel of the Belle Époque

This series of photographs is a reenactment of the brothel from the turn of the last century. The artwork was inspired by vintage erotic postcards. In fact, the idea came after seeing an exhibition of period portraits of prostitutes at the MoMA in New York.


The various sets were staged in ancient Italian residences and clubs:

- Broglino (Todi - Perugia) - [1400-1500];

- Lovecraft (Florence);

- Old farmhouse (Tuscany) - [1600-1650].


«La Fleur blanche» was a famous maison close (brothel) in the city of Paris, located at 6 rue des Moulins. La Fleur blanche was notably frequented by Toulouse-Lautrec. The brothel operated from 1860 and in 1940 was requisitioned for the use of German officers. It was definitively closed in 1946, after the adoption of the "Loi Marthe Richard",
